Translation Coordinator

Job Details

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Subtitle Translation Coordinator to join our growing team. This role is essential in managing the translation process from start to finish, ensuring that subtitle files are correctly prepared, matched with the appropriate video assets, and delivered to our translation specialists for final quality assurance. The ideal candidate will have experience working with subtitle files, a strong understanding of video content, and the ability to operate command-line interfaces for running our proprietary Arcadian AI Translation software.

Job Responsibilities

• Subtitle File Review & Preparation
  • Review subtitle files received from clients to identify and fix formatting errors or inconsistencies.
  • Ensure that prepared subtitle files are correctly formatted and ready for translation.
  • Confirm that subtitle files accurately match the associated video assets before translation begins.
• Arcadian AI Translation Software Operation
  • Run the Arcadian AI Translation software via Command-Line Interface (CLI) to initiate and manage translation processes.
  • Monitor the software's performance and address any issues that may arise during translation runs.
• Coordination & Delivery
  • Coordinate the delivery of prepared subtitle files to translation resources.
  • Ensure that translators receive the correct files and instructions for quality assurance reviews.
  • Track the progress of translations and manage timelines to ensure timely delivery of final products.‍
• Clear and Proactive Communication‍
  • Maintain open lines of communication with the team and management regarding any aspects of the subtitle preparation or translation process that are unclear or problematic.
  • Proactively raise questions or concerns when something doesn’t make sense or when you identify potential issues.
  • Collaborate with other team members to resolve uncertainties and ensure that all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.

Job Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in subtitle preparation or translation coordination.
• Familiarity with common subtitle formats (e.g., SRT, VTT) and video file types.
• Basic understanding of video content and how subtitles integrate with video assets.
• Proficiency with command-line interfaces (CLI) for running software or similar technical tools.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Effective communication skills and a willingness to ask questions and seek clarification when needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with AI translation tools or software.
• Background in linguistics, translation studies, or a related field.
• Experience with project management tools and software.

Job Work Set-Up

• 4/10 Compressed work week from Tuesdays to Fridays (Philippine timezone)
• Work From Home
• 3 months Fixed term contract (subject to renewal)
